The vote against parole was unanimous, said Terry Jenks, Pardon and Parole Board executive director. Stafford will not come up for parole again for another three years, Jenks said. The Pardon and Parole Board was considering paroling her from one life sentence to begin serving the next. She is the ex-wife of Roger Dale Stafford, who was put to death July 1, 1995, for his role in the slayings. Verna Stafford testified against her husband, who was convicted of the 1978 murders of Air force Sgt. Melvin Lorenz, 38; his wife Linda Lorenz; 31; and son Richard Lorenz, 12, near Purcell, as well as six employees — four of whom were teenagers — at a Sirloin Stockade restaurant in Oklahoma City.
